Dee, the mother of Canadian footballer, Sam Adekugbe, has shared a video of herself rejoicing as he makes his debut at the World Cup.
Canada kicked off their World Cup campaign on Wednesday evening and there were many players who were gracing the big stage for the first time.
One of these debutants was Sam Adekugbe, born in London, United Kingdom to Nigerian parents and his family moved to Canada when he was just Nine.
In the video, which has been disabled on her Twitter timeline over copyright issues, the excited mum said, “My son is in the world Cup, my son is in the World Cup, yeah baby. Thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus. Halleluyah!”
Dee seemed to have lost her voice as a result of her happiness but that did not bother her one bit because she was just super excited to watch her son Play football
Sharing the video, she wrote ;
My son @SamAdekugbe is in the world cup….oh my God. Hallelujah
Canada however lost their opening match against Belgium by a lone goal but they sure would be hoping to bounce back from defeat in their remaining matches
