Justin Bieber has stated that his religious faith in Jesus Christ has given him peace as he took to Instagram Monday to update fans on his ongoing bout with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which has led to him suffering temporary facial paralysis.
The 28-year-old pop star had previously revealed his diagnosis in a three-minute video he released to Instagram on Friday after he canceled dates on his Justice World Tour amid the illness.
‘By this point in my life I realize storms come and go,’ the Canadian pop star said in the caption of the shot. ‘Jesus continues to remind me that he is with me in the midst of the storm. It’s not about the storm. It’s that we are NEVER ALONE AND HE UNDERSTANDS.’
In a message he posted, the Peaches singer said that ‘each day has gotten better and through all of the discomfort [he has] found comfort in the one who designed [him] and knows [him].’
Bieber continued, ‘I’m reminded he knows all of me. He knows the darkest parts of me that I want no one to know about and he constantly welcomes me into his loving arms.’
The Ghost artist said that he’s leaned on his spirituality amid the difficult time as he battles Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a complication of shingles that can lead to facial paralysis.
‘This perspective has given me peace during this horrific storm that I’m facing,’ he said. ‘I know in this storm will pass but in the meantime, JESUS IS WITH ME.’
