Labour Party cannot win Presidential election in 2023 – Rabiu Kwankwaso

Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) have ruled out the possibility of the Labour Party winning the presidential election in 2023.

Kwankwaso made the comment during his appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

He proposed an alliance with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, whom he wants to be his running mate in the poll.

“I believe it is in the interest of Labour Party and the NNPP, and even in the interest of this country … because LP, as it stands today, certainly cannot win an election,” said the former Kano governor. “Yes! It cannot win elections.

“Because mainly, the support is mainly in a particular zone and not spread, and the figures there cannot earn anybody a presidential seat in this country.”

“Segun, the problem is who becomes Presidential candidate and Vice. A lot of things are happening in South East, people are being killed and every Monday businesses closed and some people feel they are marginalised that’s why I want them to be relevant in next Government.

“Our people from North are not happy with some activities in South East, therefore, Northerners will not vote anyone from South East in any party as a presidential candidate.

“Some people should understand the politics and voting pattern in this country and no region can produce President alone and Labour Party cannot win Elections.
