The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has revoked the broadcast licenses of AIT, Silverbird TV, Raypower FM, Rhythm FM, and 48 other stations over failure to renew their broadcast licenses.
The NBC Director General Balarabe Shehu Illelah discloses this today, in Abuja.
He said the action was taken due to the failure of the stations to comply with license renewal procedures.
Shehu said all affected media houses must suspend operation within 24 hours of the notice.
The commission also threatened to revoke their licenses and assign frequencies withdrawn from debtor stations to interested operators after two weeks of publication.
