A Tanzanian Fisherman, Jackson Majaliwa who rescued over twenty people in the Lake Victoria plane accident has been declared a hero, awarded 1 million Tanzanian shillings, and offered a job in the fire and rescue brigade for his efforts in Tanzania.
Jackson Majaliwa broke into a plane that crash-landed, and helped rescue 24 people stuck inside.
He has been hired by President Suluhu in the Fire and Rescue Bridge and awarded $438.
19 people died in the flight affected by bad weather on November 6.
