The wife of a 39-year-old Nigerian man, Alika Ogorchukwu who was killed on the streets of Italy says her heart is “aching” and she’s tired.
Charity Oriachi has told the BBC that she has had help in coming to terms with the death of her husband but now wants justice.
“I need justice, that is what I want. I am tired,” she said.
Speaking about her late husband, Ms Oriachi described him as “not someone to be troubling somebody”.
He was reportedly selling handkerchiefs in the city of Civitanova Marche on Friday when he was chased and beaten to death. Ms Oriachi said she learnt the news on her way back from work.
“I just got a new job. I was coming from work. A lot of people started calling me.”
The video of the attack – which has been widely circulated on Italian news websites and social media – has shocked people, with many highlighting the “indifference” of witnesses.
“That’s what I don’t know. This form of wickedness I don’t know,”It’s a painful death.” She said.
