William Ruto was sworn in as the fifth President of Kenya on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by tens of thousands of people, including regional heads of state.
The new president’s oath of office was administered by the chief registrar of judiciary.
Mr Ruto’s rival, Raila Odinga, is not attending the ceremony after citing “serious concerns” about the election results.
The inauguration took place at a 60,000-seater stadium on the outskirts of the capital, Nairobi.
Among those attending the ceremony were Presidents and Vice Presidents of African Nations and regional neighbours.
